For most of my life, I was the guy who avoided cameras like the plague. I wasn’t interested in being in pictures, and I never imagined I’d be the one behind the lens either. But life has a way of changing us—especially when it opens our eyes through loss and love.

My younger sister Deb was my complete opposite. Ten years younger and full of life, she had an infectious spirit and a deep love for capturing moments. Whether it was spontaneous family gatherings or quiet, everyday scenes, she had a way of freezing time through her lens—something I never appreciated fully… until she was gone.

Deb passed away at just 29, leaving behind her amazing husband and two beautiful young children. As we began sorting through her things, we uncovered a treasure trove of photographs—smiles, embraces, laughter, milestones, and ordinary moments turned unforgettable. Looking through those photos hit me harder than I can explain. They were more than just pictures—they were pieces of her we still get to hold onto. They were proof of love. Of presence. Of a life that was lived fully and beautifully, even if too briefly.

It was in those moments, seeing her world through her eyes, that something shifted in me. I realized how many memories I’d cheated myself out of—not just by avoiding being in pictures, but by never taking the time to capture the life happening around me.

That’s why I started Unveiled Visions.

This isn’t just a photography business. It’s a way for me to honor Deb’s legacy, and to help others preserve the kinds of moments that matter most. I specialize in family portraits because I’ve learned—sometimes the hard way—that time doesn’t wait, but a photograph can help us remember the beauty we had, the people we loved, and the stories we’re still writing.
